Marshmallow Peep Sword Fight Animations

Last spring, I created a stop-motion animation of two marshmallow peeps fighting with toothpicks. It was whimsical, silly and slightly depraved. It was shot and animated in one day. I was pretty happy with it.

This second animation was also shot and recorded in one day. It took two hours, from shooting outside in the snow to animating it in GIMP. The peeps were moved by hand. It was a one-man job. It is only 110 frames. The final shot consisted of multiple incisions from a kitchen knife, gradually increasing in depth, and placing the toothpick further in. I am far happier with this animation than the previous one. The lighting is better, the motion is smoother and more interesting, and it moves at a better pace.

Marshmallow peeps are impossible to find between June and January. Last year, I was only able to find blue and violet ones after calling stores and friends all over the state. This year, walking out of a grocery store, I spotted the traditional yellow peeps and some nuclear green ones, so I bought a pack, and, spur-of-the-moment, shot this and assembled it. Please enjoy.
